DISTRIBUTION

The production, processing and manufacturing needs a distribution network to reach the market.

The length of the distribution chain vary from country to country and from product to product.

A more recent aspect of distribution is the increased availability of Logistics Centres that provide a complete end to end service.

The packaging and product tracebility requirement that will become law in the EU countries in the near future will necessitate the services of such logistic centres to ensure a suitable level of quality and conformance to the new regulations.

Distribution today has been identified by the movement of the agrifood products

  • Direct to market/End Users

  • Distributors (central markets) in the country of production

  • Distributors (central markets) in the country of consumption

  • Logistic centres both in the country of production and consumption

  • Direct to point of sale.

Every intermediate step between production and consumption of the Agrifood produce adds cost to the end product.

The project partners will examine the possibility/applicability offered by of the B2B service/product generated by the emd-tds.com project to shorten the chain of production to consumption and see if this reduction can bring some real economic advantages to both producers and consumers.
