The research aspect is present in all the partner's countries, however each country because of its geographical or climatic conditions, by necessity, needs to research different aspects of the Agrifood sector. The objective is to ensure that the appropriate pages related to research are completed and documented by each partner so that a composite picture could be made of the current effort being made in the Mediterranean region.

Assembling a composite picture of the research activities in the Euro Mediterranean region is essential in the planning of:

• Co-operative research ventures

• The requisition and allocations of international funds in this area

• The avoidance of duplication of work

• The sharing of research results

• Future research efforts.

• The publishing of authoritative studies
