TRANSPORT

Transport can be identified by the specific requirement of the Agrifood sector as the good to be transported are very often perishable and require rapid transport under special conditions.

Transport can be;

  • short distance prevalently by road

  • medium distance by road or rail

  • long distance by sea or air

The products to be transported can be fresh/refrigerate frozen or processed/canned each of which requires a different mode of transportation and expiry date.

This aspect of the Agrifood sector is important to the project but has not been placed as a top priority in the list of analysis to be done by each partner as sufficient data has already been generated by a number of EU project in this area.
